USBF technology
The technology uses an Integrated Bioreactor (IBR) – with the allocation of all zones of biological wastewater treatment and stabilization of excess sludge with built-in active secondary settling tanks
High performance in terms of biological (reagent-free) treatment efficiency, as well as the ability to operate under conditions of high seasonal irregular load
USBF provides biological treatment in terms of BOD to a maximum of 3 mgO2/l with input values ranging from 50 to 600 mgO2/l, which is achievable to other technologies
How USBF works
Wastewater treatment process at the USBF sewage treatment plants is based on filtration through a layer of suspended sludge. Classic treatment technologies use a separate tank for each stage of the treatment process. Thanks to filtration through a layer of suspended sludge (“fluid filter”), the USBF technology allows all these vessels to be integrated into a single tank.
The integrated treatment process includes biological dephosphorisation, denitrification and nitrification processes with simultaneous sludge stabilisation in a single, integrated USBF bioreactor.
A distinctive feature of the technology is the absence of primary sedimentation tanks, as the whole process takes place in one tank, divided into special volumes by partitions and a separator integrated into it, where the suspension of biologically active sludge is separated from the treated water
